Team KTM HMC Signs Troy Herfoss for the 2007
AMA Supermoto Championship - April 06, 2007 - Team KTM HMC is pleased to announce the signing of the 2006 Australian Supermoto champion, Troy Herfoss, for the 2007 AMA Supermoto Championship. Herfoss comes to the team with a solid 6th in the 2006 AMA Supermoto Championship and will compete and look to improve in the premier 450cc class.
“I’m really excited to work with the guys at Team KTM HMC,” explained Herfoss. “Mitch (Hansen) is a really nice guy and really wants to win. John (Lewis) and Brian (Capper) are both going to be great to train with, and my mechanic Uli and I were friends before I started at Team KTM HMC, so I feel very comfortable having him work on my bikes.”
Herfoss worked on his conditioning from Christmas through February by swimming and cycling. And since his arrival the first of March, he has been practicing his motocross chops to get ready for the start of the season.
Herfoss started riding when he was five and racing when he was nine. This is his fourth year in Supermoto and his goal is winning the AMA Championship for 2007.
“I have the distinct pleasure of announcing Troy Herfoss to our racing family,” said Mitch Hansen, Team owner of Team HMC KTM. “Over the
years we have had the good fortune to work with exceptional talent from Scott Russell to Doug Chandler and I feel that Troy has the talent to be a star in this series just like a number of my previous racers.”
